The Director of ’30 Minutes or Less’ Addresses His Funny Take on the Grisly True Story
0Filed under: Celebrity Interviews , Movie News , Hot Topic , Summer Movies , Coming Soon Comedy fans are eagerly awaiting the release of this weekend’s ’30 Minutes or Less,’ starring Jesse Eisenberg as a hapless pizza-delivery boy who gets sucked into an elaborate and dangerous plot when he is kidnapped by two inept criminals and forced to rob a bank for them while wearing a bomb strapped to his chest. With the help of his best friend, he must somehow pull off the bank job, avoid the cops and get out with his life intact — as hilarious hijinks, inevitably, ensue.

0Filed under: Movie News , Reviews , Summer Movies , New Releases We don’t know about you guys, but whether it’s zombies or nukes or little green men, we’re pretty darn certain that the apocalypse is coming one day, and when it does, we know exactly what we’re gonna do. So when we first heard about ‘ Bellflower ‘ a few months back and that it revolved around two guys who not only know what they’re gonna do but are so freaking prepared that they’re practically counting down the minutes until the doomsday clock strikes 12, we didn’t even have to see the flaming Buick to realize that this was a movie after our own hearts.

The best-of-times part of the scenario: Only ten movies have ever made more than a billion dollars in worldwide ticket sales, and three of those have happened this summer. First was ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,’ then this past weekend, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2,’ and now, a couple days later, ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon.’ As of August 2, according to distributor Paramount, the robot threequel has scored $1.004 billion.
